Do you own or want to own a Reptile and are interested in learning more about them? Do you have any questions about your new pet? Then we are here to help you! Join the North Queensland Branch of the Herpetological Society of Queensland Inc. and learn more about Reptiles today. Regular monthly meetings with interesting topics and regular guest speakers, Night walks and Day Field trips are planned too. Veterinary information, Licensing Information and anything else that you need to know, we can help you with! Come share your experiences and learn about other members who have experiences in the same and/or different areas. What is Herpetology? It is the scientific study of amphibians and reptiles. Like most other fields of vertebrate biology (e.g., ichthyology, mammalogy), herpetology is composed of a number of cross-disciplines: behaviour, ecology, physiology, anatomy, palaeontology, taxonomy, and others. Most students of recent forms are narrow in their interests, working on only one order or suborder (e.g., frogs, salamanders, pythons etc) The Herpetological Society of Queensland supports us in everything we do. You can check them out online at http://geocities.com/herp_society_qld_inc/ Their website is full of great helpful information. Please pay it a visit!
